Ep 01 - Library Services for Aboriginal Populations
MLIS students Charlotte Brun and Cameron Wheaton came by to talk a little about the details and their experiences while working on projects centered around on library services for Aboriginal groups in Canada.
Topics discussed include insights into communicating and working with Aboriginal populations/sources to constructed library services and resources, an overview of the Truth and Reconcilation Commission of Canada, the importance and societal implications behind developing such resources, and the hopeful goals that these projects aim to achieve.
Mentions of Mi'kmaq, a rough definition of "two-spirited", and FIMS's own Vicky Rubin also apply.
